How to Add Facebook ‘Reviews’ Part 2

I’ve received quite a lot of comments about how to add ‘reviews’ to your  Facebook Business Page. Well Facebook has changed a lot since I initially posted that blog. So here’s the new scoop. First, you need to access your Facebook Business Page. Once you do that, you will need to click on ‘edit page’ in the upper right hand corner.

Once you are into the back-end of your website, you will need to click on ‘apps’ in the list on the left hand side. Within that list, should be reviews.

If it’s not there, you are going to have to manually add it. To do this, you will need to manually add the Reviews application. You can find the app by clicking here. Once you access the page, you will need to click on ‘add to my page’ on the left side. Make sure you click on the correct page that you want to add the app to if you have more than one Business Page. Once you have done that, you can go back to the the ‘apps’ page within your Business Page to make sure it’s been added to your page. Feel free to comment with any questions! I hope this cleared up some confusion.

Make Social Media Fit Today!

Are you still struggling to get to social media to ‘fit‘ into your daily life? Understandable…we are all so busy. Between our businesses, our families and even Little girl freaking out over social mediaour personal lives~it can be a bit much. But if you are able to find an extra 10-15 minutes in your day to dedicate to social media, you may be amazed with the results!

Here are few things that you can to do to continue to increase your presence on the Facebook and Twitter and keep up with relationships that you have already began to create:

Facebook:

~On Facebook, respond to any comments that were left on your personal profile and your business page.
~Post a status update on both your personal profile and your business page.
~Comment on three of your friend or business acquaintances status updates.
~Share at least one thing that you find interesting and worthwhile that someone else has shared on Facebook

Twitter:

~Re-tweet at least 3 of your followers.
~Point out one person that you think is pretty cool and let the rest of the Twitter Universe know. (You don’t need to wait for #Follow Friday).
~Respond to at least 2 things that are posted by on of your followers.
~And of course, respond to anything that was said to you! My business coach and fabulous friend, Lara Galloway mentions this as a Twitter priority all the time and she is so right. It’s important to “honor the conversations that people are trying to have with you.” Thanks Lara:)

And no matter what your time frame is in working on your social media presence, remember these five tips: know what you are talking about, be yourself, add value, respond to others and have fun:)

Make it a great day! I know I am:)

Quality, Not Quantity Part 1

Social events in general, are usually gauged on their success by the number of people that attend. But there are also additional factors that lend to the success of an event…the atmosphere, the food that was served and the actual quality of people that were in attendance and what they brought to the table as soon as they walked through the door.

I like to look at the people that I interact with on social networking sites in the same manner.  Although I love to say “I have 900-something friends on Facebook,” I do evaluate each and every person before accepting them as a friend on my private Facebook profile. The reason I do this, is because my profile is private, for multiple reasons. When I accept you as a friend, I’m not only welcoming you into my business world, but my personal world also. My personal world involves the people that are closest to my heart; my family, my dearest friends, my children. It is an honor to you that I trust you with these pieces of my life when I accept you as a friend. That’s the nice thing about a personal profile on Facebook, you can pick and choose. When it comes to your Official Business Page on Facebook, you don’t have that luxury. People can “like” and support your page without your approval at any time. Now, this can also be a blessing in disguise…because the Official pages are searchable and have some SEO capabilities, people can find out about you and your company via your Official Business Page quicker then they would find your personal profile. This is a huge advantage for your business!

Back to the party on my social networking sites, I try to surround myself with people that are entertaining, keep the conversation going, have an opinion and an open-mind (at the same time), a sense of humor and have good hearts and intentions. I love to that Facebook and Twitter are two virtual platforms where I meet, greet, collaborate, discuss, support, hang out and shake my booty from time to time! That’s what makes it social! But sometimes, there are people out there in the social media world that can actually impede your business growth just by association on social networks. I wanted to take the next few days to share with you some ways that you can filter out people that are spammers on Facebook, fantastic tools to clean house on Twitter, what to do once you’ve cleaned house on both Facebook and Twitter and finally how to show up on social networks (hint: just be yourself:).

So stay tuned for tomorrow’s blog: “You might be a Facebook Spammer If….”

How does your Facebook Fan Page "Grade"?

hubspotHere is a really neat tool that I discovered from the fantastic and knowledgeable people over at Hubspot. “HubSpot® is an inbound marketing system to help your small or medium sized business get found on the Internet by the right prospects and convert more of them into leads and customers for maximum marketing ROI.” They provide businesses with free tools to help them gain more exposure and success on the Internet.

One of the tools that they offer is “Facebook Grader.” Facebook Grader allows you to either grade a Fan Page or an user. Since I’m working on growing my Facebook Fan Page following I allowed it to access my Fan Page. I was happy to see that my grade has gone up from the last time that I checked it. Some of the factors that Hubspot uses to determine your grade are the number of fans you have, the power of the network of your fans, the completeness of your page and some other factors also. The one thing that I wish this site offered suggestions on how to improve your Facebook grade. [Read more...]

Facebook Fan Boxes

If you are anything like me, you are trying to get your fan base on Facebook up to 100 so you can secure you Vanity URL on your Fanpage. One way that I have gained some new fans is by adding a Facebook Fan Box to both my blog and website. And it is super easy to do!

Just go to your Facebook Fan Page (your Facebook business page) and on the left side right under your picture or logo there is option that says: “Add Fan Box to your site.” All you need to do is cut and paste the code into your website or blog and a widget will appear on your site that shows a feed of your recent activity. Now people can become fans just by clicking on your Fan Box.

There are few options to customize your site. You can choose to have your fans show in your box. I chose not to have current fans be apart of my box for a few reasons. One: how do I know that my fans want their picture on my website or blog? The last thing I want to do is offend one of my fans:) Two: the box is pretty large as it is and I wanted to do something that made it look smaller.

As far as I’m concerned, this new option provided by Facebook is fabulous! Enjoy!
